Article 5

We received article 5 on Monday. This is the final step before we receive travel approval. It is extimated 2-4 weeks to get travel approval from our article 5 date. We are hoping for closer to 2 weeks then 4. After we receive travel approval our agency will call to get our consulate appointment in China and then we can schedule our travel dates based on that appointment date.
I feel like I know Lily already. With so many pictures and the fact that I can see her "real time" through the internet she has grown so much in our hearts. I can't wait to be her mommy!

It's Lily's birthday today!!!

I was so excited to see Lily's precious face this morning on her birthday. Though we are many, many miles away it was a blessing to share this day with her through the internet. Her foster home celebrated her birthday today with cake. Enjoy the photos attached. I can't stop looking at them. It won't be much longer and I will be able to hold her in my arms....I can't wait.

Update

Lily received her care package that we sent!!! She got it on Friday, 4/9. We were so excited to see that she had received it. We also have another picture of her which I will attach.
We were re-finger printed on 04/12 and we received our I800 provisional approval on 04/13. That is our approval to adopt Lily. One step closer!

After many long hours in front of the computer, I found our daughter! She has been living at the Shanghai Baby Home since she was a couple weeks old. She had the surgery to repair her cleft lip on Jan 7, 2010. Praise God!! The really cool thing was that I was able to access one of her nannies blogs and go back to the time she entered the orphanage and get so many pictures of her. What a blessing. I will be able to follow along with her until the day we leave to bring her home. I am totally blown away by God's love. Here are a few of the pictures I found. I hope you enjoy!

LOA Received and Care Package Mailed!

We received our Letter of Acceptance (LOA) on Monday. It came a week earlier then we expected, which was a very nice surprise! We signed all our forms and sent everything back to our agency today overnight. So, that means 10-13 weeks til travel putting us traveling sometime in June.
We sent Lily a care package today as well. I pray that all goes well with the shipment and she receives it at her foster home. The orphanage is responsible for picking it up at the post office and getting it to the foster home. It usually takes about 3 weeks for them to receive it. I am attaching a picture of her care package.
