The Great Wall

We had another full day of touring today. We started at the Great Wall this morning. It was beautiful, but a very hard climb. The steps were uneven and very steep as well as some occasional vomit that you had to walk over. Oh the things you will see and hear in China! From there we toured the Jade Factory and had lunch and did a little shopping. Then we went to the Olympic Stadium and then to the acrobatic show. The show was in a small theater downtown. To our amazement people talk, answer there cell phones and whatever during the show.....very distracting to say the least. Especially the guy kicking the back of your chair the entire time!!! Another interesting thing is to see the little boys who are not potty trained yet in there split pants or no pants at all walking around with all their "business" haning out. We will leave in the morning to head out on a plane to the capital of Lily's province. This is where we will get Lily on Monday. Getting closer...

  1. I'm getting so anxious for you all as you count down the hours to Lily. R u really getting her in the capital city? Will you go to Pingdingshan (sp?) at all? Just wondering how it will all come together! Loving the comment about the little boys with the split pants. One of our pictures of Mack we can see it all!!!!!!

  2. Yes, we arrived in Zhenghou (the capital of Henan) today. All of the orphanges in our group will come to the civil affairs office tomorrow morning and that is where we will all receive our children. We will stay here unti Friday and then go to Guangzhou for the final 8 days.

  3. Ok, well then I wonder if we will do that too, rather than go to Kaifeng. It makes sense to stay in Capital. I guess that is how we did it with Luke, just hadn't put it all together.
So excited for tomorrow! Post lots of pictures!!!!!!!
